Today, the City of Westminster selected Lindsey Kimball to serve as the city’s new Economic Development Director. Kimball is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in a diverse range of economic development functions, locations, and organizations.
Kimball will oversee business relationships and economic development for the city including small business support and business development throughout the city.
For the past nine years, she has served as economic development director for Hillsborough County, FL, a Tampa Bay community of more than 1.5 million people. Kimball managed a wide range of areas, including corporate business development, entrepreneur services, redevelopment, and historic preservation. Most recently, she developed and led a $94-million small business response program that assisted nearly 6,000 small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“After an exhaustive nationwide search, we are thrilled that Lindsey will be joining the Westminster team,” said Jody Andrews, Interim City Manager. “Her experience and leadership will ensure the city remains a strong partner and supporter of our businesses community.”
Prior to joining Hillsborough County, she served in economic development roles in Tampa Bay, Jacksonville, and St. Petersburg, Florida, and the Downtown Denver Partnership. Her vast experience with local business support and leveraging public and private partnerships directly aligns with the City’s vision of an inclusive and sustainable economy.
Kimball is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by the IEDC, a certified Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) by the NDC, and holds an MBA from the University of South Florida. On a personal note, she and her family look forward to making Westminster their new home and exploring the natural beauty that Westminster and the Front Range have to offer.
Acting City Manager Jody Andrews has been serving as Westminster’s acting Economic Department Director for the past 13 months.
