The city is currently working on revising the regulations for oil and gas uses and is continuing to seek public input. The draft regulations, which were crafted this summer and further updated over the past several weeks, were presented to City Council at the Nov. 16 Study Session.
Those interested can watch the presentation and Study Session discussion.
City Council indicated support for increasing the setback beyond what was originally proposed and ensuring that the new regulations would protect and minimize impacts of oil and gas activities on the community.
City staff will likely have the next draft of the regulations ready to release to the public in January 2021.
For more information on the draft regulations and how to provide comments, please visit the city’s oil and gas webpage.
