Run Westy Run Food Truck Park to Open in Westminster Station

Run Westy Run Food Truck Park to Open in Westminster Station

Up until now, you may have only visited Westminster Station for the occasional train trip to Denver Union Station via the B Line. Now you’ll have a reason to stay, grab some tasty local food and a beverage, and explore all that the area has to offer.

Run Westy Run (RWR), a food truck park that will feature food, drinks, music, art, and events, is scheduled to open on Saturday, June 4 at 3151 W 70th Avenue in Westminster Station. Inspired by food truck parks popular throughout Texas, Run Westy Run will offer a weekly rotation of six different local food trucks, as well as a converted shipping container selling beer and wine from local favorites, including New Terrain Brewing Company, Lady Justice Brewing Company, Raices Brewing Company, and Infinite Monkey Theorem winery.

In addition to the rotating trucks, Simply Pizza will be a consistent vendor, also housed in a repurposed shipping container on site. You can also look for White Rabbit Coffee on Friday and Saturday mornings, serving up coffee, along with pastries from La Patisserie Francaise and burritos from Mame’s Burritos.

RWR co-founder, Blake Sanchez, explained, “The vision is to offer an outdoor space for families in the surrounding neighborhoods to safely gather and enjoy food and drinks. We want to anchor this with music, art, and events, and we want to actively partner with and support local groups, businesses, and our neighbors.”

Michael Roberts from New Terrain Brewing Company added, “The opening of RWR is something we here at New Terrain have been looking forward to for some time. Enjoying the outdoors with a local beer in one hand and delicious food truck provisions in the other hand is part of our mind and soul.”

Advantageously located at Westminster Station, Run Westy Run is anchored by the RTD B Line station, including a 600+ stall parking garage, Little Dry Creek trail, and the 40-acre Westminster Station Park and Nature Play. It is also just down the street from recently opened art and creative center, The Medusa Collective.

Over the past year, with the support of a Neighborhood Landscape Enhancement Grant from the City of Westminster, Run Westy Run has been transforming a half acre open space plot into a community hub. RWR worked to complete the area – with guidance from Westminster city planners -- with landscaping of native grasses, turf mix, and wildflowers, ADA paths, shaded seating for the public, and electrical amenities for food trucks.

Run Westy Run food truck park will be open twelve months a year. For more information on food truck rotations, hours and upcoming events, visit their website at https://runwesty.com or follow on Instagram @run.westy.run.
