Activities
Pumpkin Patch
The pumpkin patch is located at the lake pavilion. Pumpkins vary in sizes and prices. Cash and credit cards are accepted. There is a free pumpkin valet and shuttle so you can check your pumpkin while you enjoy the rest of the festival.
Carnival games
Children can win prizes at 30 free carnival games.
Hot Air Balloons
How many are there? There are currently 6 hot air balloons scheduled.
What time are the balloons there? The balloons arrive at 4:30 p.m. and are inflated at approximately 5:45 p.m.
Do they leave the ground and can we ride in them? No, these balloons remain on the ground during the event. All of the pilots are very friendly and love for you to visit and ask questions. At night, enjoy the spectacular balloon glow!
Will the balloons be up rain or shine? The hot air balloons are weather dependent--they cannot be inflated if the wind speed is more than 5 MPH. The pilots monitor this throughout the event, so if they are not inflated, it's because it is too windy. During this time they will still torch the flames (candle-sticking). As soon as it is safe to do so they will inflate.
Getting to the Festival
Shuttles: We highly recommend using our shuttle system to get to the festival. Shuttles will run about every 15-20 mins from noon until 9 p.m. Courtesy golf carts will be available for those will mobility needs.
Shuttle Locations:
- College Hill Library: 3705 W. 112th Ave.
- Westminster City Hall: 4800 W. 92nd Ave.
- Westminster High School: 6933 N. Raleigh Street
Parking: Parking is extremely limited at the event. Please do not use lots at the Recreation Center or Fitness Center.
Handicap Parking: Is located near the event, parking management will help direct you to the location.
Biking: There will be a free bike valet located on the north side of the park.
What can I bring in?
Costumes: We love costumes! Please make sure they are appropriate for the family-friendly event. Leave any sharp objects, sticks, bats and replica guns/swords at home.
Pets: The crowd size may be a little overwhelming for your pet, so it is recommended that you leave your pet at home. If they do join us, please keep them on a leash and clean up after them.
Prohibited items: Outside alcohol (visit one of our beer vendors), laser pointers, glass containers and weapons of any type are prohibited. No marijuana use allowed in the event, public marijuana use is illegal. All bags, containers, and packages are subject to search.
Zero Waste Event
We are proud to be working with Scraps to produce very little waste during this event. Please look at the sorting stations and sort your trash accordingly. Almost everything you purchase from food vendors should go straight into the compost bin. Alcohol vendors will use r.Cups, please return these to the bins in the waste areas as well! Westy Fest also has water stations, so please bring a refillable water bottle.
