Earlier this evening around 5:45pm Westminster Police received a call about a burglary in progress in the 7600 block of Osceola Street. The homeowner told police someone was trying to break into his home. He then told police someone had been in his home and he saw one of the suspects with a handgun. The home owner told police the suspects were leaving and he was able to describe the vehicle they were in as a red Cadillac SUV.
An officer was in the area at the time of the call and attempted to stop the Cadillac. The vehicle swerved at the officer, and officers pursued the vehicle to the 8100 block of Sheridan Boulevard where a precision immobilization technique (PIT) was performed. During the pursuit a hand gun was thrown from the vehicle and recovered by officers. Four suspects, two adult males and two adult females, were taken into custody.
Officers are still looking for a four door silver Nissan, with an unknown plate. We believe this vehicle may be associated with tonight’s incident.
In addition, during the course of the investigation, it was determined the Cadillac involved in tonight’s incident was taken in an armed carjacking yesterday. Due to that ongoing investigation we are not releasing names or booking photos at this time.
If you believe you have video of this incident, please contact Detective Sanders 303 658 4029.
