1/22/18 Westminster High School Threats

Date – February 22, 2018

Around 10:00am Westminster Police Department was made aware of an online threat, circulating through social media, at Westminster High School.  The threat said there was a gun found in a bathroom at the high school.

Westminster Police placed the school on a lockout and began a thorough search of the school.  Around 11:30am it was decided by the school officials to early release students. There was never a direct threat of a school shooting and we did not find a gun at the school.

After a thorough investigation it was determined this threat was false and as a result a student was charged in the incident.

The safety of our students is our upmost priority and we take all of these threats seriously.

Please if you “See Something, Say Something” to an administrator, school resource officer or through Safe2Tell by calling 877-542-7233 to anonymously report any concerns or threats you may see. Do not continue to circulate these threats on social media sites.

For questions regarding this press release, please contact Investigator Cheri Spottke 303 658 4360.
