Test results came back negative for blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) at Faversham Lake. However, restrictions are still in place for your safety: swimming is prohibited and pet contact with the water is discouraged due to the variable water quality consistent with public ponds and lakes.

At this time, we are not aware of any blue-green algae blooms in Westminster. However, blue-green algae are common, and blooms happen frequently in Colorado—particularly during warm months. If you see algae blooms, the best way to stay safe is to stay out of the water (and keep pets away from the water as well). Westminster's pond management contractor found what appears to be a blue-green algae bloom in Faversham Lake. The site is being tested now and warning signs will be posted at the site immediately.
