The city recently completed the Gregory Hill pump station and tanks replacement project with an open house thanking nearby residents for their patience with construction. Located on Lowell Boulevard near 81st Avenue, this project took about two years to complete.

This $13 million project replaced existing steel tanks that were in poor condition due to age. The new concrete tanks reinforced with steel, are stronger than the tanks they replaced and will last longer with less maintenance. Positioned at a high point to provide adequate water pressure through a combination of pumping and by gravity, the new tanks hold six million gallons of water and serve about 15,000 people.

The site has new trees irrigated with a drip system and will have native grass vegetation that won’t require irrigation once plants are established.

“This project is another example of our focus on best serving the Westminster community through smart investments to address aging infrastructure,” said Public Works and Utilities Director Max Kirschbaum. “We appreciate nearby residents for their patience during construction.”
