City Council and Inclusivity Board stand against hate and are committed to equality and dignity
The following is a joint message from Westminster’s City Council and the Inclusivity Board.
As the Inclusivity Board of the City of Westminster, we stand in solidarity against all forms of hatred and oppression. A few of our neighborhoods were recently targeted by an anonymous distribution of propaganda that promoted White supremacy. We believe that all residents, guests, and businesses of Westminster are entitled to live free of intimidation, threats, and fear. As such, we stand united with our friends, family and neighbors targeted or harmed by this hateful incident. As the Inclusivity Board of the City of Westminster, we condemn White supremacy and such attempts to divide our community. We pledge to undertake any action within our power as a City board and as individuals to eliminate evils such as racism in our community. We commit ourselves to the residents, guests, and businesses of the City of Westminster to ensure that our community is a beacon of light where diversity is celebrated and where all are treated with equality and dignity.
The mission of the Inclusivity Board is to work with City Council to advocate for all voices within our community and to ensure everyone is treated with fairness, dignity and respect.
El Concejo Municipal y el Comité de Inclusividad ratifican su posición contra el odio y se comprometen con la igualdad y la dignidad
El siguiente es un mensaje conjunto del Concejo Municipal de Westminster y el Comité de Inclusividad.
Como Comité de Inclusividad del Municipio de Westminster, fomentamos la solidaridad contra toda forma de odio y opresión. Algunos de nuestros vecindarios fueron agraviados recientemente mediante una distribución de propaganda que promovía la supremacía blanca. Creemos que todos los residentes, visitantes y empresas de Westminster tienen derecho a vivir libremente y sin intimidación, amenazas ni temor. Por eso nos unimos a nuestros amigos, familiares y vecinos agraviados o perjudicados por este odioso incidente. Como Comité de Inclusividad del Municipio de Westminster, condenamos la supremacía blanca y estos intentos de dividir a nuestra comunidad. Prometemos tomar toda medida a nuestro alcance como comité municipal y como personas para eliminar males como el racismo en nuestra comunidad. Nos comprometemos ante los residentes, visitantes y empresas de la Ciudad de Westminster para asegurar que nuestra comunidad sea un ejemplo donde se celebre la diversidad y todos seamos tratados con igualdad y dignidad.
