The city will follow a deliberate pace for reopening city facilities and will continue to emphasize employee and resident safety and mental health, city and community leaders emphasized during two livestream events Thursday, May 7.
“I think we in Westminster decided from day one that we would listen to experts and follow their directives that are based on data,” said City Manager Don Tripp during the “WestyRISE: Road Map to Reopening City Facilities” livestream.
Public Works and Utilities Director Max Kirschbaum emphasized that a phased approach to reopening is important.
“This isn’t an all or nothing proposition for facilities,” Kirschbaum said.
A moderate approach also translates to cultivating and supporting mental health during this time, which was highlighted during the “WestyRISE: Mental Health Support During Tough Times” livestream.
Abigail Tucker, a counselor at Community Reach Center, said it’s important to consider mood, body and behaviors during this time.
