***Clarification*** 7200 Hooker Street Officer Involved Shooting
Date – September 18, 2019
In an earlier press release, we stated “When officers entered the home, a male suspect pointed a gun at officers who returned fire at the suspect, striking the suspect.”
We have no indication the suspect fired at officers. The male suspect pointed a gun at officers, the officers fired on the suspect striking him.

Date – September 18, 2019
This morning around 5:45am S.W.A.T. was serving a search warrant in the 7200 block of Hooker Street.
S.W.A.T. was serving the knock and announce search warrant for the Aurora Police Department.
When officers entered the home, a male suspect pointed a gun at officers who returned fire at the suspect, striking the suspect.
The suspect was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.
There were no Westminster Police Officers injured during this incident.
Hooker Street is closed between 71st Avenue and 72nd Avenue and will remain closed most of the morning.
The 17th Judicial District Critical Incident Investigation team will be conducting the investigation into this incident. This investigation will likely take several weeks.
