Development moratorium officially removed

Development moratorium officially removed

The 12-month moratorium that began in July 2018 on the acceptance of new development applications for projects proposed for the area generally north of 92nd Avenue in Westminster, has been officially removed, effective today.

The early removal of the moratorium is official with the following conditions that have been met:

  • Written certification from the Public Works and Utilities director to the city manager that the final analysis has been received from HDR Engineering, Inc., and that the final analysis is consistent with the preliminary findings that justify the removal of the moratorium.
  • Written certification from the Public Works and Utilities director to the city manager that the Big Dry Creek Parallel 30-Inch Interceptor Sewer Project is complete to the extent necessary for its operational use.

The next step includes a redesign of the sewer system to assure sewer demands are not impacted in the future. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2020 and be completed in approximately three years.
