Westminster residents will have access to first-class golf instruction at their local courses, thanks to a new partnership between Golf Westminster and the renowned Trent Wearner Golf Academy.
Starting this spring, the Trent Wearner Golf Academy will bring their highly rated golf coaching programs to Legacy Ridge Golf Course and Walnut Creek Golf Preserve. The Academy is the only golf instruction establishment in Colorado rated as a “Best Golf School in the U.S.” by Golf Digest magazine.
Wearner and his staff of player development professionals are known for their ability to not only improve the technique of their students, but also help them understand other elements of the game that lead to playing better golf. The academy emphasizes the importance of outdoor instruction, making sure that students get plenty of useful on-course experience.
“The City of Westminster has two phenomenal golf courses, and I believe those courses and our image are a perfect match,” Wearner said. “We partner with golf courses, something that not too many others have success doing, and given how important it is to take lessons outside, this is an outstanding arrangement for the residents of Westminster to take advantage of.”
Golf Westminster chose to seek the partnership to better handle increased demand from residents. Joe Carlton, head golf professional at Legacy Ridge Golf Course, said he is excited to see the many benefits of the partnership including cost savings, increased lesson availability, and a greater variety of lessons and clinics for players of all skill levels.
“Partnering with TWGA gives Golf Westminster the opportunity to further achieve its goal of providing the best experience and opportunities to recreate for the residents of Westminster and the surrounding community,” Carlton said.
Residents will be able to sign up for private and small group lessons (up to six golfers) starting this spring.
Wearner will be hosting a free presentation for interested golfers at Walnut Creek Golf Preserve on Saturday, April 1 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. To sign up to attend and learn more, click here.
