Join one of the city's Boards and Commissions
City Council is now recruiting eligible and interested citizens for the city's boards and commissions.
Have you ever wanted to be more involved in your community? Do you want to have a voice in city decision-making? Would you like to make a difference right here in the city? The city's boards and commissions can challenge and engage you in a variety of areas that help to preserve the quality of life you enjoy in your hometown while providing valuable input to Council.
Eligibility requirements to serve on a board or commission include:
- a registered elector of the city
- a resident of the city for at least one year
- pass a background check
- meet specific board/commission eligibility requirements, if necessary
Open positions include:
- Historic Landmark Board (one regular member and one alternate member)
- Human Services Board (one regular member)
- Inclusivity Board (two regular members)
- Special Permit and License Board (one alternate member)

Terms of office are two years and you must continue to reside in the city and be registered to vote throughout the term of office. Members who are appointed are eligible to serve up to four consecutive terms.
