Staff visit Arrow’s lab to brainstorm ideas about water challenges
Innovation and Public Works and Utilities staff visited Arrow’s Colorado Open Lab on Wednesday, Jan. 29, to develop innovative solutions to major water challenges facing the city. Westminster is the first city to use this recently opened innovation lab.
City staff spent the day with Arrow and Colorado Smart Cities staff addressing specific challenges related to aging infrastructure, water conservation, data, water supply, water conservation and energy production.
“The first step to creating solutions is identifying a specific problem statement,” said Innovation Coordinator Gregg Moss. “These problem statements will help the city prioritize and tackle each challenge with innovative solutions in the coming years.”
Arrow’s Colorado Open Lab just recently opened and is a space for customers and partners to develop solutions, build and test equipment and rapidly get products to markets. This lab was made possible by funding from one of Westminster’s partners, Colorado Smart Cities Alliance, an organization dedicated to helping governments navigate the murky waters of technology, data and innovation.
