Standley Lake Regional Park will offer 250 additional personal paddle craft permits on Wednesday, Aug. 12. A total of 675  personal paddle craft permits will now be available.

These permits will be available to the 237 individuals who have been placed on the waitlist and staff will be reaching out to them this week.

Paddle craft permit pricing will be reduced to $75 (currently permits are priced at $100) to reflect the shortened time frame of the remainder of the season. 

Beginning on Sept. 1, paddle permits will be offered for $50 and on Sept. 15 permits will be offered for $25. 

A new waitlist will start soon for those interested in purchasing a permit.

“At this time, allowing a fixed number of personal paddle craft will allow staff to monitor and adjust procedures before expanding to additional users,” said Parks and Recreation and Libraries Director Jason Genck. “We thank patrons for their patience as we take a measured approach to make outdoor recreational activities available for the mental and physical wellbeing of the community.”

​Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are some changes to the paddle craft program that patrons should be aware of:

• Patrons must wear a mask at the decontamination station while receiving the required ANS spray.
• Six feet of social distancing must be maintained in the park and on the water at all times.
• Patrons will be responsible for placing and removing their personal paddle craft from the spray rack and their vehicles. Staff will not physically be in contact with personal paddle craft or equipment.
• Patrons will be required to wear a mask in the park or on the water when social distancing cannot be maintained.
• Parks staff have the right to limit access to the park and/or lake when it’s at capacity to comply with social distancing recommendations as outlined by the Center of Disease Control, state and/or county public health guidelines.
• All paddle craft users must wear a PFD (personal flotation device) at all times while on the water.
• Lake access is restricted to Friday - Monday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. No paddle craft will be allowed on the lake Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.
• Paddle craft must be off the water by 6 p.m.
• Spray station hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Sept. 30

All paddle craft utilized on Standley Lake must enter at the main entrance to the park and will be sprayed in accordance with aquatic nuisance species (ANS) protocols. If paddle craft are brought in on a trailer, the trailer cannot come into contact with the water. All paddle craft must be able to be hand-carried to and from the water.
