The final vote on a proposal to increase water and sewer rates and tap fees is set for the Oct. 8 Westminster City Council meeting.

Westminster City Council on Sept. 24, by a 5-1 vote gave initial approval to an increase in water and sewer rates and tap fees for 2019-20 to fund critical needs in our water and sewer system. 
 Councillor Dave DeMott voted no; Mayor Pro Tem Maria De Cambra is absent on maternity leave.

The vote was on the first reading of ordinances increasing the rates and tap fees.

The vote for second reading (final vote) of the ordinances is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8, during City Council's regular meeting which begins at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 4800 W. 92nd Ave.

Rates and fees would become effective on Jan. 1, 2019, and Jan. 1, 2020.
