Have you ever wondered what goes into planning a livable city? Or how we maintain the vital services that keep our city running? The Westminster Civic Academy is an 8-week program that provides members of the community an opportunity to take a deep dive into their municipal government and learn more about the city’s programs, services and operations.
Through a series of interactive learning opportunities at a variety of city facilities and tours led by department subject matter experts, participants will learn first-hand about the role of municipal government.
Who can join?
- Must be a City of Westminster resident or business owner.
- Must 18 years of age and older.
- Must be willing to commit to attending one session per week for 8 weeks, plus graduation.
- Participants are expected to display professional courtesy and respectful conduct to promote a positive experience for all.
- Participants may not run for Westminster City Council during the program.
- Class size is limited to 25.
The program is scheduled June 30 through August 18 on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. Graduation will be held on August 25. View the full schedule.
