Both Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) and the Tri-County Health Department will allow their extension of the Stay-at-Home order to expire at midnight on Friday, May 8. On Saturday, May 9, JCPH and the Tri-County Health Department will transition to Safer-at-Home orders where many non-critical businesses can begin to open with some restrictions.
The city is partially in Jefferson and Adams counties, so residents and businesses should follow the public health orders of the county in which they live or do business.
As a part of the orders, residents are encouraged to wear a non-medical face covering when away from home, practice social distancing and only travel in- or out-of-state when essential.
The city’s Economic Development Department has compiled resources for businesses including a reopening checklist, best practices for worksite, employee and customer safety, information on grant programs, and other assistance.
JCPH and the Tri-County Health Department have also created resources for businesses working to reopen.

The City will take a phased, measured approach when reopening City Hall, recreation facilities, Irving Street Library and College Hill Library.
