Date – May 7, 2020
At approximately 2:12 am, one of our officers advised he was driving behind a reported stolen vehicle in the area of 120th Ave. and Mariposa St. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle but it failed to yield.
Officers followed the vehicle southbound on Federal Blvd. and deployed stop sticks in the area of 112th Ave. in an attempt to disable it. The vehicle again failed to yield and officers pursued the vehicle until it entered a neighborhood in the area of 99th Ave. and Lowell Blvd.
Officers began slowing their speed but the vehicle continued driving southbound on Lowell Blvd, eventually crashing into Westminster Fire Station #2, located at 9140 Lowell Blvd. No firefighters were injured as a result of the crash. Both occupants of the vehicle, an adult male and female, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Due to the ongoing investigation and to ensure that all proper notifications have been made, the identity of the occupants of the suspect vehicle will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
