August 19, 2020 at approximately 1:44am, we received a call about possible gunshots heard in the 6900 block of Stuart St. We quickly had officers in the area and they located the suspect vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle drove into Arvada and crashed into a residence in the 8000 block of Harlan St. Nobody at the residence was injured and the two occupants of the vehicle, two juvenile males, were also not injured.
It was later determined that at approximately 1:00 am, the juveniles had burglarized a residence in the 6100 block of Johnson St. in Arvada, where the vehicle was stolen. The homeowners were not aware of the burglary or that their vehicle had been stolen.
Shell casings were located in the 6900 block of Stuart St, where the gunfire was heard earlier. Nobody was injured and based on the initial investigation, it does not appear that any property was damaged. Two handguns were located inside the stolen vehicle. They were not taken during the burglary in Arvada and the origin of these firearms is not known at this time.
