11/16/18 Fatal Motorcycle Accident
On November 16, 2018 Westminster Police responded to a serious accident in the 11200 block of Stuart Street.
Officers arriving on scene located an adult male, who had been travelling westbound on 112th Avenue while riding a motorcycle. The male driver was pronounced deceased from the accident.
The initial investigation indicates the motorcyclist struck the rear of a RTD bus. The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the eastbound lanes of traffic. Unable to stop, a car travelling in the eastbound lanes struck the motorist.
Everyone involved in the accident remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. It will take several months to fully reconstruct the accident.
Early indication suggests speed as a factor in this accident.
The identity of the deceased motorist will be released by the Adams County Coroner’s office.
