City partners with Foothills Animal Shelter for free microchipping

City partners with Foothills Animal Shelter for free microchipping

The City of Westminster and Foothills Animal Shelter want to make sure your dog gets home safely, in case your pet is lost. When owners purchase or renew a dog license with Foothills Animal Shelter, owners will receive a free microchip for their dog.

Called “Chip Chip Hooray,” the promotion with Foothills Animal Shelter is only available while supplies last.  With the purchase of a dog license through the city for $20, you will receive a voucher for a free microchip for your dog.  A current microchip for your pet is the best way to reunite them if they were to get lost or stolen.

To receive your voucher for a free microchip, please contact Westminster Animal Management at 303-658-4326, press 7 and leave your information.  Once you receive your voucher, bring it and your dog and to Foothills Animals Shelter at 580 McIntyre Street, Golden, Colorado, to purchase your license.

Proof of a current rabies vaccination for your dog is required at the time of a license purchase.

Dog licenses are required for all dogs who reside in the city, both Adams and Jefferson Counties, and are required to be renewed annually.
