City Seeking Input for Railroad 'Quiet Zones' in Historic Westminster

The City has been working on establishing three new Quite Zones in the Historic Westminster area. Quiet Zones, once established, silence train horns from sounding each time they approach a crossing. These zones will be located at West 72nd Avenue, Lowell Blvd. near Westminster Station Park, and Bradburn Blvd. near 73rd Avenue. From 2013 to 2020, train crossings varied between six and 16 daily trips accounting for 18 to 48 train horns every 24-hours, half being between 6pm and 6am. This project seeks to silence those horns.

The City is requesting input from the community to help guide the design of the railroad Quiet Zones.  Your input will ultimately help the City weigh alternatives and determine which improvements will be implemented at West 72nd Avenue.

The survey closes on July 10, 2022. Survey responses are anonymous. Final results will be shared with City staff, Westminster City Council, and the community. Thank you for your participation.
