COVID 19 Response

The Westminster Police Department recognizes this is an uncertain time for our citizens. We want to reassure you we are still committed to providing you with exceptional service.

Our goals for the next several weeks include:

- Continue to provide a high level of service to our community by ensuring public safety.

- Maintain public order without compromise.

-Respond personally to any life safety issues without delay.

-Identifying and implementing staffing and deployment procedures which balance workforce health and service delivery.

-Maintain high visibility of uniformed officers in the community.

-Continue to provide thorough and complete services to crime victims particularly persons experiencing any crime of violence.

-Maintain processes and resources to continue to thoroughly investigate cases.

To achieve this, you may be asked to complete your report over the phone with a Westminster Police Officer.  If it’s determined an officer needs to respond, we will.

We are taking these measures out of an abundance of caution for your safety as well as the safety of our officers. Police Officers are frequently in contact with many citizens, and we want to minimize the potential of our daily interactions from causing an exposure risk to you.

We recognize this may cause some inconvenience, but we do appreciate your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time.

During this current State of Emergency, remember that the first responders do not work from home and are protecting the community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Social Distancing is not an option for officers on the streets right now. They promised to be there when you need them and they will do just that.
