Destroy those old, sensitive documents safely at Shred-a-thon

Have you worried about throwing away sensitive personal documents safely?  The city offers a free and convenient solution.

Drop by the Westminster Police Department at 9110 Yates Street on Saturday, Oct. 3, between 7 a.m. and noon for the 14th annual Shred-a-thon.

All donations from this Metro Denver Crime Stoppers fundraiser help fund rewards for tips that lead to the arrest and conviction of criminals who otherwise may not be found by police.

  • Bring documents such as old bank statements, bills, expired tax documents and medical records
  • Three bags/boxes of paper are allowed per person
  • Only individuals can participate. Businesses are not allowed
  • You don’t need to be a Westminster resident
  • The service is free, but donations are encouraged and tax-deductible
  • For questions, email Investigator Cheri Spottke at cspottke@westminsterco.gov or call 303-658-4421
