Have a safe and spooky Halloween during COVID-19
This year, Halloween may feel a bit spookier than usual. Traditional door-to-door trick-or-treating is fraught during the COVID-19 pandemic. What can you do to keep your little ghosts and goblins safe during Halloween? Follow these guidelines from the Colorado Department of Health and Environment (CDPHE) to make sure it’s just treats and no tricks.
- Continue to follow the best practices of wearing a face mask (costume masks are not a substitute for a face covering), wash your hands and social distance from people outside your household
- Keep groups small and limit house stops
- Hand out candy at a treat table at the end of a driveway or from a patio
- Have a candy scavenger hunt at home
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and pre-packaged candy before gobbling it up
