City Council will hold a public hearing and consider a proposed Preliminary Development Plan (PDP) amendment application to add “church” as a permitted use to the existing Jaidinger Villas Subdivision PDP on Monday, Jan. 27. A meditation center is proposed as the only allowable church use.
The property is located on the southeast corner of West 106th Avenue and Balsam Street. An existing accessory structure (a former garage) is currently being used as a meditation center and classroom, but is non-conforming with the current allowable uses per the PDP. The Comprehensive Plan permits “public/quasi-public” uses, including churches and other places of worship, in all land use classifications subject to the development review process.
