Jefferson County helps with food insecurities for city residents

As many public services were stretched thin due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, Jefferson County started a task force to address food insecurities. Since its launch, the task force has established distribution sites for all areas of the county to ensure food was available for everyone in Jefferson County.

Food pantries across the county are seeing 30 to 40% new households come in for services. Since many of them have never needed food support, asking for this help could be very difficult. To support these residents, the task force has aimed to destigmatize food pantry use as they prepare for a likely increased demand in the coming months.

Westminster residents in Jefferson County, regardless of need, are eligible to come into a food pantry for services.

If you or someone you know is in need, call 2-1-1 to find a nearby food pantry or search online at search.211colorado.org.
