COVID-19 has no impact on the quality or supply of your tap water. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, coronaviruses are susceptible to the same disinfection conditions as any other virus.

As required for all municipal water systems, the treatment processes used at the Semper and Northwest Drinking Water Treatment Facilities remove or destroy 99.99% of all viruses.

Although tap water is safe, the city is taking measures to protect its specially-trained staff responsible for treating, testing and delivering safe, reliable and high quality drinking water and wastewater services.

Treatment plant and water quality lab staff are staggering shifts and practicing social distancing while continuing to meet all safety and regulatory requirements. Arrangements are being made to help these staff quarantine in place, if the need arises.

Mantener el agua potable segura es prioridad

El coronavirus (COVID-19) no tiene impacto en la calidad o abastecimiento del agua potable. De acuerdo con Centros para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC por sus siglas en ingles), COVID-19 es susceptible al mismo proceso de desinsectación que cualquier otro virus.

Como es requerido para todos los sistemas de agua municipales, el proceso de tratamiento de agua de las Plantas Tratadoras de Agua Semper y Northwest, se elimina el 99.99 porciento de todos los viruses.

Aunque el agua de la llave es segura, la ciudad esta tomando medidas para proteger a los empleados que tratan, analizan y suministran el agua de alta calidad, así como los servicios de aguas residuales.

El personal de los laboratorios de la planta tratadora y de calidad de agua han estado escalonando sus horas de trabajo y distanciamiento para cumplir con los requerimientos de seguridad. Ya hay un plan para poner en cuarentena a cualquier persona que lo necesite.

Aunque son tiempos difíciles, nuestra prioridad es proveer agua segura y de alta calidad.
