Public hearing for St. Mark Village application to be continued on Sept. 10

UPDATE: The Public Hearing and consideration of the Preliminary Development Plan (PDP) and the Official Development Plan (ODP) for St. Mark Village on Monday, Sept. 9, was extended until 11:30 p.m. The hearing was not completed by that time, therefore, the Public Hearing was continued to Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

In addition, City Council was not able to get to item 11B: First Reading of Councillor's Bill No. 27 Re: St. Mark Village Comprehensive Plan Amendment. This item will also be held on Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at City Hall.​

The six acre St. Mark Village property, owned by 3100 W. 97th Avenue LLLP, is located at the northwest corner of Federal Boulevard and 97th Avenue, immediately west and north of the Wishbone restaurant. St. Charles Town Company has proposed a multi-family residential project for this site, consisting of 216 one-, two-, and three-bedroom affordable rental apartments. The developer is seeking approval for a Comprehensive Plan amendment, a Preliminary Development Plan amendment and an Official Development Plan.

Meetings related to this project were scheduled as follows:

  • Neighborhood Meeting to review and discuss Comprehensive Plan amendment (held Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Westminster High School);
  • Planning Commission Meeting to consider Comprehensive Plan amendment (held Tuesday, May 14, at Westminster City Hall; Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend approval);
  • City Council Meeting to consider Comprehensive Plan amendment (held Monday, June 24, at Westminster City Hall; continued to Monday, July 8, then to Monday, August 26, then to Monday, Sept. 9, and finally to Tuesday, Sept. 10).

 

  • Neighborhood Meeting to review and discuss the PDP and ODP (held Tuesday, July 2, at St. Mark Catholic Church Annex Building);
  • Planning Commission Meeting to consider the PDP and ODP (held Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Westminster City Hall; Planning Commission voted 4-3 to recommend approval);
  • City Council Meeting about the PDP and ODP (scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26, but continued to Monday, Sept. 9 without being started).
  • City Council Meeting about the PDP an ODP held Monday, Sept. 9, but the hearing was not completed. The public hearing was continued to Tuesday, Sept. 10, at 6 p.m. at City Hall
