As a part of the city's education and outreach program for stormwater, Stormwater Coordinator Heather Otterstetter and Urban Designer Sean McCartney recently created an activity placemat for restaurants. The placemat shows diners how they can help reduce typical stormwater pollutants in our waterways.

"One of the requirements for the city’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System permit is to provide public education and outreach," said Otterstetter. "McCartney and I came up with the idea for a frog named Tubing Todd who floats downstream. Kids of all ages can play and help remove harmful pollutants and help Todd reach the end." 

Otterstetter and McCartney plan to distribute the placemats to Westminster restaurants, schools (e.g. after care programs), city libraries, city camps and at city events. A Spanish version of the placemat is also available.
