Take a moment to appreciate sewer systems on World Toilet Day
Today, Thursday, Nov. 19, is World Toilet Day, a somber reminder that:
- 4.2 billion people live without safe wastewater services.
- 80% of the wastewater generated globally flows back into streams, lakes and oceans without being treated.
While efforts are made around the world to increase access to sustainable sanitation, the city is investing in your sewer system to maintain safe and reliable wastewater services that we often take for granted.
