Westminster Soliciting Resident Feedback on the 2040 Comprehensive Plan
The City of Westminster is soliciting additional feedback from residents about the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. The new Comprehensive Plan is the city’s framework for managing growth in our city over the next 20 years. The 222-page comprehensive plan seeks to manage and support growth in a manner that creates thriving and healthy communities. The plan is organized into the following chapters:
-
Land Use & Development
-
Transportation & Mobility
-
Health, Wellness & Community Services
-
Economic Resilience
-
Housing & Neighborhoods and
-
Utilities & Resources
As a result of feedback received at the August 2 City Council Study Session, a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document has also been prepared to assist with common inquiries from Westminster residents. Additional outreach to community partners has occurred with the Health, Wellness & Community Services element of the Plan. An executive summary is also available to review the Plan’s purpose and organization. Tentative public hearing dates are September 14 for the Planning Commission and October 11 for City Council.
The City continues to welcome feedback from residents. To date, the City has received feedback related to proposed developments, affordable workforce-housing for young and working families, building density, parking requirements, and how to better coordinate with school districts.
Hard copies of the plan are available at the Irving Street and College Hill public libraries for residents. Feedback may be emailed to westminsterforward@westminsterco.gov or mailed to:
