Westminster unveils Art à la Carte Mobile Art Studio—coming to a neighborhood park near you!

This summer the City of Westminster is rolling out (literally!) an innovative new visual and performing arts program—an 18-foot mobile art studio known as Art à la Carte. This workshop on wheels will travel to neighborhood parks across the city now through September to offer a variety of low-cost visual and performing arts classes to small groups of children, adults, and families in an intimate and scenic location.

“The City of Westminster is excited to provide a brand new program that allows participants to expand their creativity and imagination, regardless of age,” says Cultural Affairs Administrator Rich Neumann. “It’s a fabulous way to connect people to the outdoors, have fun and explore the arts—at an affordable cost.”

The fun starts rolling in June, when the city partners with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts to offer a series of performing arts workshops. Participants can choose between a range of topics, including improv, circus skills, an exploration of Broadway, and demystifying Shakespeare. Each class is sure to build confidence and new skills as participants receive expert instruction from the Teaching Artist team of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.

In July, Art à la Carte will feature visual arts workshops geared to artists of all ages. Participants will explore a variety of mediums, including block printing, acrylics, monotypes, and more.

To view the entire schedule and to register, visit https://www.westminsterco.gov/artalacarte. Costs range between $10-$15 per person, per workshop, with supplies included.

Art à la Carte is sponsored in part by St. Anthony North Health Campus and the North Metro Arts Alliance.
